YAAP v0.9.9–v0.9.13: Absence Calendar, Assets, and Kanban Controls
Between late 2024 and February 2025, YAAP got stronger operations tooling: absence and event workflows, asset tracking, and more controlled Kanban behavior. We also fixed some annoyances in chat.
Absences & events: from ad-hoc to trackable
We introduced absence and event tables and added manager approval for holidays. On top of that, we shipped CRUD for the absence calendar so teams can maintain availability information reliably instead of chasing messages.
Assets: table + CRUD
Asset management landed with an assets table and full CRUD. If you need to track equipment, shared resources, or company property, this creates a proper lifecycle: create, update, assign, and review.
Kanban boards: pagination, limits, and safer drag’n’drop
Kanban boards gained pagination, plus an optional board/task limit and configuration in task settings. We also added conditional drag’n’drop blocking, so teams can enforce rules (e.g., approvals, capacity limits, or status constraints) instead of letting anything move anywhere.
Chat fixes (February patch)
Fixed chat search.
Fixed chat sidebar behavior.
What’s next
Next logical steps are deeper cross-module links: absences impacting workload planning, assets tied to employees/departments with audit history, and Kanban analytics that turn limits into measurable throughput improvements.
Tip: If you enable board limits, track WIP vs. cycle time for a couple of weeks. Limits only help when they change behavior.
